Rumpke Driver Wins National Award for Safe Driving

COLUMBUS, OHIO – June 29, 2015 – A Rumpke driver has been named Driver of the Year by the National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA).

Rumpke Driver Bill Justice - 2015 Driver of the Year

Bill Justice, of Grove City, was chosen for this prestigious honor for his commitment to safe driving. He has achieved nearly 20 years without a single accident. He and other top drivers from across the country were recognized at Waste Expo, a large industry trade show that occurred in Las Vegas earlier this month.

“Bill Justice’s safety record, commitment to his company and his dedication to customer service are a source of pride for the entire waste and recycling industry,” said Sharon H. Kneiss, president and CEO of NWRA.

Justice drives a commercial front-load truck for Rumpke’s Columbus operation. He services nearly 150 customers per day throughout Central Ohio including businesses, restaurants, schools and churches.

“Bill Justice is a great representative of Rumpke and our industry,” said Andrew Rumpke, vice president at Rumpke. “He is a true professional, which has a positive impact on our customers. His perfect work attendance and dedication to safety make him an excellent mentor for the rest of our team.”

Justice, 42, resides in Grove City with his wife Christine.

Each year, NWRA selects the safest and most outstanding drivers in the industry. Companies are placed in three categories based on the number of vehicles in their fleet. Rumpke is classified as a “Regional Carrier” with a fleet between 251 and 2,000. For the third consecutive year, Rumpke claimed all three Driver of the Year awards in its category.
