Landfill Earns American Flag Award

MEDORA, Ind.—June 12, 2012— The Medora Landfill has earned the “Proudly We Hail” award from the Exchange Club of Brownstown, in recognition of “ongoing efforts to proudly fly the American Flag.”

A flag pole was recently installed at the Landfill’s entrance on State Route 50 as part of a site improvement project.

“I’m proud that our efforts to improve this site are recognized by the local community,” said Ralph Collins, regional landfill manager for Rumpke. “As a former U.S. Navy Seabee, I am proud to fly the American flag on our property.”

Owned and operated by Rumpke since 1983, the Medora Landfill accepts municipal solid waste and construction demolition debris. Rumpke employs 20 people at the site.
