How to Recycle Plastic Water Bottles

The holidays are almost over, and it’s time to make a New Year’s resolution. For me, that resolution begins with clearing excess clutter and trying to live a more minimalistic lifestyle. Unfortunately, that’s much easier said than done.

So, where do I begin? The answer to that became clear one morning after I opened my car door and two empty water bottles fell out. That was just the passenger side. Fortunately, my Rumpke recycling cart was nearby. I rolled the green container over and began to clean out my car. Within minutes and a few (okay, maybe more than a few) water bottles later, my car was clutter-free. Why didn’t I do that sooner? I felt so free!

Prepare the Plastic Bottles

Empty Plastic Water Bottle Ready For Recycling

There are just three simple steps to prepare plastic bottles for recycling

  1. Empty the bottle.
  2. Crush the bottle.
  3. Put the cap back on.

Why not make a resolution to recycle right and toss those empty water bottles in the recycling bin?

Free yourself of the clutter and help us on our mission to reduce, reuse and recycle.
