Residential Trash Pickup in Columbus, OH

If you have a Homeowner Association (HOA), check to see whether it hires its own private trash collection service. If not, Rumpke provides comprehensive residential trash and garbage collection and recycling services. You can either contact us or submit a service request form to register.

You’ll be assigned a once-a-week curbside trash and recycling pickup day when you register for our services. Holiday schedules may vary, so check with us online to see how you might be affected.

For bulk trash collection, give us 48-hour notice before your regularly scheduled trash collection and we can dispose of your waste for you.

You can also opt for our dumpster service. With a roll off dumpster, you can discard large volumes of junk and debris resulting from major operations like a deep spring cleaning or a construction project.

Contact us ahead of time so that we can determine the best dumpster for you and advise you of the items that may or may not be accepted.

If you have several large items that you are discarding as part of a garage, basement, or attic cleanout, you might consider a dumpster rental.

Per federal law, Rumpke cannot accept hazardous materials. The best way to dispose of such items is to use them up as intended. You should never throw them out in the trash or down the drain. This is not just harmful to the environment, but also very dangerous to our employees.

Fortunately in Columbus, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) contracts Environmental Enterprises Incorporated (EEI) to offer household hazardous waste disposal for all Franklin County residents. Most items will cost you nothing to throw away, with the exception of latex- and water-based paints, which require a small disposal fee. Simply drop off items at EEI's Household Hazardous Waste Center at 645 East 8th Avenue.

Rumpke’s recycling center relies on the mutually beneficial single-stream recycling process, where we collect all recyclable materials together in a single container. That means recycling is easy for you, since you don’t have to separate out your different recyclables. It’s also easier for us, since we can make sure that all recycling is sorted properly.
