Look Who’s Recycling in Jeffersontown

Local Resident Recognized

JEFFERSONTOWN, Kentucky—Oct. 26, 2015—Rumpke Waste & Recycling recognized Glenn Davis as the inaugural winner of the Look Who’s Recycling in Jeffersontown program.

Davis received the award – and a Rumpke prize pack which included a $100 gift card – at Jeffersontown City Hall with Mayor Bill Dieruf.

In addition to recycling at home, Davis completed a recycling pledge, which is available on the City’s website. City residents who take the pledge are eligible for the gift card drawings. More than 350 residents took the pledge.

“I’m pleased to report that Jeffersontown residents consistently achieve approximately 60% recycling participation,” said Mayor Dieruf, and that “the positive feedback from residents shows their commitment to our community.”

According to the recycling pledge surveys, one resident was quoted as, “Congratulations on an excellent job. J-Town does a great job in its sustainability endeavors,” while another said, “I hardly have any garbage because so much stuff is recyclable! I love it!”

“The Look Who’s Recycling program is a great way to engage residents and promote sustainability,” said Chris Pierce, Rumpke municipal representative. “Our family company has made significant investments in recycling in the communities we service, and we’re proud to partner with Jeffersontown to increase recycling participation.”
