At the start of January 2015, Rumpke’s service guidelines changed for residents of Mifflin Township and Washington Township (Franklin County).
“Cart Contents Only” Service for Trash & Recycling
Each residence in Mifflin and Washington Townships should have received one brown cart for trash and one green cart for recycling from Rumpke. If you have not received your carts, please contact Rumpke.
What is “Cart Contents Only”?
- Your trash and recycling service is CART CONTENTS ONLY, meaning trash and recycling will be collected only if it fits inside your designated Rumpke cart with the lid closed.
- Trash and recycling placed outside the designated cart will not be collected and personal containers may not be used.
- You may exchange your cart(s) for different sizes or rent an additional cart from Rumpke. Contact Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171 to do so. Fees may apply.
Cart Placement Instructions
Please place your carts curbside the evening before your service day and follow the guidelines below.
- Face the front toward the street and the wheels away from the street.
- Place within 3 ft. of the street.
- Place at least 3 ft. from obstructions such as mailboxes, cars and other carts.
Mifflin Township Service Days
- Yard Waste Day: MONDAY (every week)
- Trash Day: FRIDAY (every week)
- Recycling Day: FRIDAY (every-other-week)
Washington Township Service Days
- Yard Waste Day: MONDAY (every week)
- Trash & Recycling Day: WEDNESDAY (every week)
