GEORGETOWN, Ohio – March 12, 2014 – Rumpke will resume curbside recycling collection in Amelia, Thursday, March 13.
As part of the Village’s new contract with Rumpke, residents have the option to participate in Rumpke’s recycling program. There is no additional cost to participate, but residents must sign-up directly with Rumpke to be collected. Residents that choose to participate are provided with a Rumpke 96-gallon wheeled recycling cart. Recycling is collected on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
“We are very excited to once again offer a curbside collection option for recycling,” said Brett Gaspard public sector manager, Rumpke. “The containers hold more than five times more material than our traditional 18-gallon bins, allowing residents to recycle a large amount of materials each month.”
Rumpke accepts a wide variety of common household items as part of its recycling program including:
- Plastic bottles and jugs, flattened with lids reattached
- Glass bottles and jars of any color
- Aluminum cans and steel cans
- Cartons (like milk, juice, soup, broth and egg substitutes)
- Paperboard (like cracker boxes)
- Cardboard (flattened and folded to fit inside the Rumpke cart)
- Paper, including office paper, newspaper, junk mail, magazines and catalogs.
